Heaven Sent

This poem is about a friend of mine who passed away a few years ago from a brain hemorrhage. She was also a colleague of mine and gave me a lot of support when things were going bad:

My friend, my colleague,
my model of lasting success,
today your contagious essence
does not affect me any less.

Heaven sent your body to us
for whatever blessed reason,
your spirit to many still exists
although you had to leave us.

For whatever reason you did leave,
we shall not hold a grudge,
your precious time spent on earth
was a gift cherished from above.

You helped so many people to live,
I don't think I can say enough,
Heaven sent your body to us
and left your soul with love.
